Eddie Goes for a Ride

Remember quite some time ago I introduced you to Lucille [Lucy]? She quite the happening gal - and STILL rides in my car. Always.

Well, imagine my surprise when her fourth-cousin, Eddie, showed up the other day. As luck would have it, Eddie came into town right when I needed to make a drive to a church for an event I was attending for my "day job".  I asked Eddie if he wanted to ride along with me. He was ready before me and waiting outside for me.  Here we go.....

Are we about ready to go?

No - I'm a dude. I can do the steps all by myself.

Whew. Lots of steps back here - but I can manage.

Yikers. That's a long way down.

Wait for me....I'm coming!

[The look of full step-determination.]

Finished the steps and now coming along on the pathway. Just about there!

Yay! Finally at the van.

What are all these buttons for?

Can I help drive?

Ok, guess I'm ready to go.

Dang - do I have to wear this dumb seat belt?

No - I'm too excited - I can't stay in that seat!

What! Was that a dog?

What do I see down there? Oh....it's your feet.

Guess we have to run to the bank. Through the drive-through to cash a check.

This is awesome-cool.

La, la, la....I'm at the bank....

Cash. Sweet. Cash.

A little hungry, let's grab some hash browns and a drink from McDonald's.

Mmmm....love that morning soda.

And the hash browns - ooooo, laaa, laaa.

Thanks. I'm full now. Burp.

After the long drive, we are finally at the destination's parking lot.

Yup. I think we'll park here.

I can't go in with you? Wait in the car???

Don't worry -  the windows were cracked open to give me air.

But I'm going to miss you when your'e gone...

Happy to report the event went well - and a few short hours later, we head home. Tired.

[Skip to next morning.] [Oh, oh!]

Ummm, what's keeping you? We're ready for a ride! Hoot hoot!

PicMonkey

PicMonkey is a photo editing Web site that I just learned about.

I think it has a lot of great potential, however...it can also be like setting a young child loose in the candy store - too much available all at once and wanting to try everything.

I wanted to just slightly alter a photo.

It went from this...

To this...

So what do you think? Do you like it?

Chirping Birds

I hesitate to even post this - because I took these photos when there was still snow on the ground - and since my lilacs are blooming already - that means that spring has more than sprung!

But...I want to share some snapshots of the little birdies I made a couple months ago. I'm happy to report that their little wings have since warmed up and are glad to be out of the chill of winter. Brrr....

Wow - you should hear them chirp now!

Horatio

For those who know me, it's no secret how much I love the Andy Griffith show. Well....actually I love the black and white Andy Griffith show. I don't think it held the same wonderful-ness after it went to color.

Of all of the absolutely fabulous episodes that I never tire of watching - the clip below is my ultimate, favorite episode of all. It's a hoot! Check it out and hear about "Horatio".

Bursting Lilacs

This has been the earliest and warmest spring I've ever seen.

There are many good things that come with it - warm days, cozy evenings, the sweet smell of spring chives, and the multiple shades of green bursting out all over.

There are also some negative things that come with it as well - box-elder bugs, bees sneaking in the house, confusion of the plants, and early back-aches of working in the yard.

Normally blooming at the end of May, I already have lilacs starting to open their wonderful,  sweet fragrant petals. I took a quick snap of a bouquet today with the funky camera option on my new phone. I thought it was quite fun. Go ahead....scratch and sniff.

What's Up?

Here's the question of the day. Well....the WOOL question of the day...

What useful (or not so useful) little item is made of wool AND wood?

Ha! Did you really think I'd tell you this easily?  :-)

Looks like you'll have to stayed tuned and find out!
